Introduce a pair of gerbils with Black Wolf Clan's Split Cage!
These are literally all-wire cages that you can add a cardboard floor
to and nesting material. They fit inside 10 gallon tanks or
larger. Add a food bowl and plenty of cardboard or material they
can use for nesting. Hang the water bottle thru the bars off the top
of the tank itself.
As with all split cage intros, start out in a completely clean tank
and add the most aggressive or dominant gerbil into the wire tank.
You can wire the door shut or open with a bread tie or something
stronger they cannot chew thru.
The gerbils can see, smell, touch each other and have plenty of air
flow. The gerbils can crawl all over the cage and really mark them
and get to know each other..works really well for intro-ing pups who
will explore instead of hiding.
They cannot chew out or escape as with some split cage setups but
they can still reach each other thru the bars, but not ball up and
fight aggressively.
