Bred by Gary of Gary's Gerbils in NY, owned by Donna of ABC Gerbils in NH. Awesome was the overall winner of the mottled class, as well as the Best In Show winner at the NE Show in Nashua in June 2003. Awesome is a 4th generation descendant of Piccasso with the most extreme mottling I have seen from this line so far. Awesome's father, Pepe, has also been a good producer of pups with heavy mottling like Awesome and his sister Beauty, also bred by Gary. Pepe is the first I have seen consistently throw pups with long white tails and or even more mottling than he carries, such as Awesome displays here. In researching Piccasso's line, the extreme mottling typically skips generations, showing up in the grandchildren or great-grandchildren of the parents.
