Nickname: Indy
DOB: Aug 2003
Color: Siamese Spot M
Genetics: aacbchEeGgPpSp+
Parents:
BB's Clymenestra (black pied F with cb from Piccasso x Angelina)
BB's Agamemnon (siamese M)
Notes: After Indy retired in Winter 2004/2005, he started babysitting pups. Indy was the true prize among Piccasso's grandchildren. He was picked up as a pup in Indiana during a storm (thus the name) with his full sister Illusion from Mollie at the time, these two and two other siblings were the only links I had left to Piccasso's lines. He traveled all over the US and was entered in three AGS shows, placing with ribbons every time. He had a very sweet temperament and produced large, colorful litters (eight pups almost every time!). Many of his offspring went on to win AGS ribbons themselves.
Indy was paired with two long-term mates the first was a CP DEH female named BWC's Wintersky. Sky and Indy spent most of 2004 and part of 2003 together producing a large variety of colorpoints and light colorpoints, including CPN, CPA, and Burmese, to name a few. This pairing also resulted in two mottled Siamese, both of which won first placings at AGS shows. One pup, Furry, went to Donna in NH and expanded her extreme mottled line. Furry's extreme mottled grandchildren are shown below.

(Photo by Donna of ABC Gerbils)
As has been typical with the extreme or excessive spotting in this line, Furry was very spotted, compared to his father, who has almost no white at all (and a solid mother). He successfully passed on his genetics to his offspring who consistently produced extreme mottled burmese and extreme mottled blacks.
Indy's second mate was Grace (BWC's Grace Like Rain), a daughter of my beloved mottled black Jazz (BWC's Bluegrass Jazz) who passed away unexpectedly in 2004. Jazz was a son of Trey (a mottled siamese grandson of Piccasso and Indy's full brother) x Marie (a mottled lilac female from Ann Marie in MI). Jazz was the only heavily mottled offspring of Trey x Marie, though they did have moderately marked mottled pups. Jazz did pass on his heavy mottling to his offspring directly; however, unlike many of this line which have expressed the heavy mottling in skipped generations.
Because Grace and Indy both carried all recessives, they produced every self, colored, black-eyed, red-eyed, standard, colorpoint, and light colorpoint known, making their litters quite a surprise every time. In 2004, they had several extreme mottled burmese in back-to-back litters. Some are shown below.

Serenity, one of Grace and Indy's pups
Two of these pups, Serenity and Symphony, easily won the pup class at the 2004 New England Show in VT. Another pup later placed again in the pup class held in MO at the 2004 MW Show, shown by Mark and Tana of TLR. Grace and Indy had many beautiful pied, mottled, and extreme-mottled pups mostly dove, siamese, burmese, and black. At the beginning of 2005, this pair was retired so that their offspring could continue the legacy.

BWC's Free 2 Fly “Tag” enjoying his victory!
**Best In Show Winner**
Nashua, NH, May 2006
5th Champion crowned in AGS history. Tag also holds the record for accumulating the second highest point totals in AGS show history as well as siring a Best In Show winner (Robin, who is pictured below). To date, BWC is the only kennel to have back-to-back Best In Show wins at any sanctioned AGS show.

BWC's Free 2 Fly P5
Nickname: Tag
DOB: Feb 2004
Color: Extreme Mottled Burmese M
Genetics: aacbcbEeGgPpSp+
Parents:
Jett (Solid Black M from Jewel, Piccasso's mottled siamese granddaughter x JC, a schimmel male)
Voyager (Min. Spot Burmese F from Illusion, Piccasso's extreme mottled black granddaughter) x Sarek, a CPS M

Notes: Tag was the first generation line bred back to Piccasso on both sides of his pedigree. His mother Voyager had VERY little white but carried the excessive spotting gene from her grandmother, Illusion. Voyager was bred to a solid black male (Jett) who also carried the reccessive for excessive spotting from his mottled mother (Jewel, a full sister to Illusion).
As I have seen thru 7-8 generations now of my own lines from Piccasso AND from other breeders who have continued his lines, the excessive spotting (in this line) often skips a generation as it did w/ Voyager, but will show up when a spotted offspring w/ spot or pied markings is mated to a solid or spotted partner. Quite often the pied or spotted parents from Piccasso's line will have mottled offspring. To fully read about Piccasso's lines, please see the Piccasso's Pedigree page.
The extreme mottling has now shown up in this line when a few gerbils were selectively linebred back to Piccasso on both sides, and particularly from 2 different generations tracing back to Indy a single siamese spot male w/ min. white (like Voyager). Please read Indy's biography to hear his story and see his beautiful extreme mottled offspring. Indy is a full brother to both Illusion and Jewel.
Tag has been partnered with several spotted and solid mates, but his most striking offspring produced so far has been Robin. Please read Robin's biography to see photos and learn more about him. Tag has attended two AGS sanctioned shows and placed second in mottled (out of very large classes) both times (both first place winners went on to win best in show).

Parents:
Tag (Extreme Mottled Burmese M from Voyager x Jett)
Vicki (Extreme Mottled Black F from black mottled/pied parents bred by Michele Rush of DSG in NE)

Robin at 7 weeks
Notes: Vicki was selected for her sweet temperament and pleasing extended white patterns as a full outcross mate for Tag. The 2 litters produced by Tag x Vicki resulted in: 4 solid black, 2 mottled black, and one extreme mottled black pup (Robin). On Oct 15th, 2005, Robin won first place in the mottled class and placed Best in Show overall at the MW Show in Springfield, MO. Robin's brother Dreamer, placed second in mottled at the MW show and second in mottled at the NE 2005 show in VT. To see Dreamer's offspring, please look under the link for Winter Wolf.
Robin was mated to Kieran, an extreme mottled burmese from Furry's line, bred by Donna of ABC gerbils. Their first litter born in 2005 produced BWC's Arctic Tern (an extreme mottled burmese F) and BWC's Winter's Blessings “Raven” (an extreme mottled black male). Both Arc and Raven have nice mottled markings complimented by tails over half white (a personal goal of BWC). Raven has a very nicely marked tuft (another BWC goal) in addition to his long half white tail. Raven tied for first place in the People's Choice Award (voted on by AGS members and by the General Public) at the MW 2005 show.
Both Raven and Arc will be bred with the goal of producing color variety in schimmel, spot, pied, mottled and extreme mottled outside of burmese and black. In addition, all BWC gerbils are bred w/ the goal of producing healthy, large, colorful, friendly litters with great show quality tufted tails.

BWC's Jigsaw FF**V4P6
Nickname: Jaye
DOB: March 2006
Color: Extreme Mottled Colorpoint Slate F
Genetics: aacbcbE*ggP*Sp+
Parents:
BWC's Free 2 Fly “Tag” (Extreme Mottled Burmese M) from BWC's “Jett” (Black M) x BWC's Voyager (Burmese Spot F)
BWC's Some Enchanted Evening “Summer” (Burmese Spot F) from BWC's “Robin” (Black Mottled M) x BWC's SB's “Eve” (CPSN F)
Notes: Jaye is from Tag's last litter (pictured) and is one of three extreme mottled pups born to him and Summer in the Spring of 2006. She is the first extreme-mottled colorpoint slate born to BWC and has beautiful markings, as do her siblings an extreme mottled burmese female (who now resides in OHIO), and a very extreme mottled colorpoint silver nutmeg nicknamed “Silver” (BWC's Freeze Tag).
This litter was a direct result of a one-time line-breeding back to Tag thru his granddaughter Summer. Because both parents carried the modifiers for the extreme mottling, this resulted in a beautiful mixed litter of 3 extreme mottleds, 2 spot/pieds, and one solid.
Both Jaye and Silver will continue BWC's long range goals of producing healthy, colorful, friendly litters carrying a variety of reccessives (including ef/cb) and a range of spotting (especially mottled) variety.
Jaye was mated to Ares, a schimmel male from Haley (Kismet's Corner) in Mass. They had their first litter in the summer of 2006. At the 2006 Midwest Show, Jaye left for her new home in Oregon at GerbilsNW.
